Every newborn photo session I perform comes with the privilege of getting to know a beautiful growing family and hearing their stories. In the case of this adorable little guy, Mom and Dad literally crossed oceans to be together.

Mom is a North Carolina local, but Dad is from Ukraine. In the most modern of love stories, they met online and fell in love across the airwaves. They eventually realized that they had each found “the one” and then their precious baby boy came along.

I met up with this incredibly sweet couple two weeks after their little guy made his grand appearance so we could take his newborn portraits. As tiny as he is, he was surprisingly awake for much of his photo shoot! Those teeny little eyes were just so curious and he wanted to be part of the action. Still, we managed to get plenty of portraits of him being his sweet and mellow self.

For most of these newborn baby portraits, we went with a simple, timeless look and a neutral color palette that will never go out of style. It perfectly captures how quaint and kind this family is. I absolutely love the portraits where this little guy is cuddling with stuffed animals - he looks so cozy!

We did mix it up for a few of the portraits. This cute baby boy looks like the most precious little reindeer, and his portraits in blue are really capturing that fun-loving little boy energy. Mom and Dad can’t wait until their little guy is big enough to start playing baseball, so we brought in a bit of wishful thinking and created a little baseball portrait as well with a ball and a tiny bat.

If you have a new addition to your family on the way, I’d love to create their first professional portraits that you can treasure forever. Book your newborn photo session today with me at Heidi Houser Photography.

Introducing... BABY R!

I'm still flying high from one of the most amazing shoots I've had in a while. The pretty little lady in front of the lens is the  daughter of  Lineberger family.

Speaking of which, Katie was so much fun to get to know. I could have talked with her all day!

As for baby R, she was a little angel and was peacefully through the majority of our 90-minute session. I'm not gonna lie. When she showed up bright-eyed and active, I thought the session might have turned out a little tricky, but Katie was able to rock her to sleep, and that knocked baby R out. f

Time for a little aww moment

Okay, no more talking (or would that be typing?). Check out little baby R for yourself!

Ready to book your newborn session?  Please book before baby is 20 days old. Call, text or email me @ 828.234.3182 heidi@heidihouserphotography.com

Hope to see you soon! Heidi

Photo lovers, today I have the distinct pleasure of introducing you to baby M, who's officially ten days new!

I think we can all agree: Her hair should earn her a spot on the cover of every baby magazine in the nation! Seriously, I'm practically melting from cuteness overload!

Anyway, as you can see from the pictures below, baby M and I had one of the best sessions together. Her mom prepared her for the session by following the emailed instructions. Her preparation efforts allowed us to have an especially awesome shoot together.

Baby M slept some of the ways through the (session. And when she wasn't sleeping, baby M was calm, smiley. She couldn’t have been any better. Because the shoot went so well, I asked Ms. A if she would share one helpful piece of advice with other mothers planning a newborn session (See – I've got your back, moms around the world). Her biggest piece of advice is: “get up early and keep baby awake if possible.”

Without further adieu, Baby M
